Bill Dykes

Bill Dykes is a Houston, Texas native who moved to New Orleans in 1991 after graduating from the University of Texas – Austin with a B.S. in Film Production. He has been a professional standup comedian for eight years. Bill has performed at such venues as the Improv Olympic West, House of Blues, Birmingham’s Stardome and Houston’s Comedy Showcase. He has worked with names like Lewis Black, David Cross, Will Durst, Steven Lynch, and John Heffron, among others. He has also been involved with three Improv groups over the last four years…”Without Annette” (short form) and “God’s Been Drinking” (Chicago Long form - recently performed at the Los Angeles Improv Festival), and Comedy Sportz. He was an assistant instructor with GBD as well. In the past two years Bill has appeared in 7 plays, both comedic and dramatic
He has also MC’d more than 30 public and private events. Clients include Hibernia, Chase Manhattan, House of Blues, Hard Rock Café and many others. For four years, Bill produced and hosted the NOATV show, “Blah Blah Blah Live” on Cox cable 8. In addition to appearing in a number of TV and radio commercial, Bill was also recently featured in the Time Picayunes widely read “Straight Eye for the Queer Guy” article. Bill can be seen on TLC’s “Faking It!” and in the upcoming film “The Pizza Wars” on ABC. His DVD and CD, “Barely Alive at Le Chat Noir” will be available this fall.
